A long, long time ago, I got on a plane with a newly-issued passport and a partially-disassembled Trek road bike and went to Europe for the first time.
Have a fabulous trip! You all will have a blast. Looking forward to stories and photos!
I went to Europe for the first time when I was 15 to improve my French language skills. Oh the colloquialisms I learned and the fun I had! Flew over and took a ship home on a very rough North Atlantic route.
I am so jealous of this wonderful adventure you all are embarking upon. TJ has been in Europe since mid-May and learning quite a few things about himself that living in a hostel in Portugal will teach you. I look forward to following your tales!😀
Not all those who wander are lost. Reminds me of my own 5 month Grand Tour in 1980. Armed with copies of Let's Go Europe and Europe On $15 a Day, a backpack, Eurail Pass and $2000 in American Express Travelers Checks. Some unwise choices, sure. But absolutely the best time of my life.
Wishing you a grand adventure with your family!
Thanks Anne! Super excited. :)
Happy Trails to you!!! Have a wonderful time!!!!
thank you!!!
Awwwhh man…. I’m not crying, you’re crying 😭
Have the freaking bestest time Ami!
You are always and forever in my heart
oh Jess *sob*

sounds amazing except for the North Atlantic yikes
I love this story for many reasons (which perhaps I will bore you with in a later comment) but for now I wish you Bon Voyage & safe travels!
And yes, I was choking up with tears as I read this out loud to my spouse and got to the last lines. ❤️
